Meditation does not have to be a struggle. When your meditation is grounded in your body, it happens by itself.

Rest your body

Connect with your body and allow your nervous system to rest.

Rest your feelings

Connect with your breathing and allow your feelings to rest.

Rest your thoughts

Now, allow your mind to open up and naturally find meditation.

Is body meditation right for you?

Try a set of unique somatic meditations. This means they also include your body. When your body and breath are aligned, your mind can naturally enter into deep states of healing and meditation.

Body

Most of us have unnaturally high levels of tension in our bodies.

Mind

This keeps our minds on guard and makes them restless and edgy.

Together

With a relaxed body and a clear mind, we can let our love flow.

Natural but different

This is a natural form of meditation. But it is still very different. Here are some examples:

Do I have to sit still?

No, you can make small mindful movements to change your posture.

Where can I do it?

You can do it almost anywhere you feel safe – at home, in a café, at work, or in nature.

Do I have to sit upright?

Yes, but not in a strict way. You can do it in your office chair, on your sofa, or crosslegged.

How long should I sit?

Wait for your body, breath, and mind to align. Then, sit for as long as you like, or can.

How often should I sit?

To calm your nervous system, it’s important to sit often. Find your own way!

Can I have a coffee?

You can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while meditating. It’s a great way to not get drowsy!

Some words about me and my journey

Hi, I'm Peter Appel, somatic meditation and movement teacher from Finland. For more than 25 years, I’ve studied meditation and different forms of somatic approaches to the body and the mind. Read more about my journey here!

What you can expect

A somatic meditation includes three parts: Shifting into another brain state, setting your intention, and allowing meditation to happen.

Make the shift

The common state of the brain is to remember the past and plan for the future. Here we’re consciously shifting into a brain state that is open and receptive.

Set your intention

When working with the subconscious mind, it’s crucial to set an intention that includes the well-being of yourself and others. And then repeat it.

Open up for meditation

By first allowing our nervous system, our feelings, and thoughts to calm down and find peace, we enters into a state where meditation naturally happens.

Rest in the good feeling!

Somatic meditations can create a feeling of safety and well-being in yourself – in your body, breath, and mind. In this feeling of love, you can rest and be rejuvenated. Gradually, you can also bring it into your daily life! Read more on the blog. Or sign up for the free training!
